Important Information for all UHF CB users

Over the years as we all know the UHF CB Repeater network has been
neglected and almost non existent

However in recent months with the assistance a number of people the repeater
network has been restored beyond its former glory.

However this has caused unintentional issues between different users
of the UHF CB band

Because these repeaters have been offline users have had free range on almost
all channels without any issue or interference but now with these repeaters
being activated again problems are now beginning to arise

For those who don't understand this is a simple explanation of how a UHF CB Repeaters work:

  • Channel 1 will transmit from your radio to the Repeater on channel 31
  • Then the Repeater will retransmit you original transmission back on channel 1

By transmitting on Channels 31 to 38 your transmission will be rebroadcast on channels 1 to 8
via any repeater in your signal range to a larger area possibly interfering with other
people using the repeater

Which it is why we ask that all users please avoid using channels 31 to 38 being the input channels

Please refer to the UHF Channel Information page for additional channel allocation information

Thank you for your cooperation

Important Information for all UHF CB users # 2

In the past few days the staff of UHFCB.com.au have noticed a very disturbing trend.

Unfortunately some UHF CB users have been deliberately interfering with Genuine Emergency Situations. In one case first aid instructions were being broadcast to a rural area where there was no mobile phone coverage, and another user was deliberately interfering with the information being transmitted.

These actions are completely unacceptable and although channels 5 and 35 are the official Emergency Channels for UHF CB, help may not be necessarily be available on those channels so one may seek assistance on another active frequency.

An Emergency Transmission no matter what channel it is on is the most important transmission at any time and deliberate interference will not be tolerated if you have to continue your conversation request permission from the person assisting for a brief moment to broadcast what channel you plan to move to.

Just remember the next life that is saved could be yours

Thanks
